Art in the Garden: Springtime at La Mirada
Elizabeth Murray, Bench, Mallet's Garden, France
It's a special day on Sunday, May 17, at the Monterey Museum of Art, La Mirada, 720 Via Mirada. It's called Art In The Garden: Springtime at La Mirada and it's something definitely not to be missed. From 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. it's a full day, starting with a sumptuous buffet lunch provided by Michael Jones' A Moveable Feast amidst La Mirada's exquisite gardens.
Guests will be able to observe a number of well-known Central Coast Plein Air artists creating new work at their chosen locations throughout La Mirada's house and gardens. A displayed work by each artist will be available through sealed bids. This is an excellent opportunity for collectors. Participating artists include: Johnny Apodaca, Mark Farina, Jane Flury, Andres Morillo, and Joe Nordmann.
The acclaimed gardener and author, Elizabeth Murray, will
describe and demonstrate the creation and recognition of sacred spaces in
gardens. Ms. Murray will discuss how detail and delineation can transform
even the smallest of spaces. A book signing will follow her talk. Fee. Call
408-372-5477 for Brunch Reservation.
